Bnet.com's social incomplete?

It's taken just about two years perhaps, from when, one would try and get your head around implementing a Facebook Connect and Facebook Like to today when it's almost the easiest and default way to get people active on your content site.

I would assume it's now the 101 of 'getting social' for any company. But today I just came across an example of where the process is incomplete. And I point this out, because, sadly, I came across the link from LinkedIn Today.

Never mind the headline... well actually, nix that. The headline and story was interesting and I wanted to share it AND make some comments on the site itself. While the standard share buttons were present and I could share it, I found that to give a comment, I had no access to logging in through one of my social networks, and would have had to register afresh to their network.

Share buttons:

But for commenting:

I guess they're keen to extend their traffic footprint, but have either
  • not been able to implement registration connect modules
  • Are yet to implement registration content modules
  • Or they need close control on their registration db for email marketing purposes? Has a solution been found to that?
Actually curious to know what's up. Can't believe it's an oversight.
